Re: 30/31 Pickup body wood patterns Yes, Bensen Library in Dearborn Michigan has most of the original prints which you can get measurements from.
Welcome to Fordbarn posting ( I see you have been a member for a couple of years though!), and have a Happy New Year. |
Re: 30/31 Pickup body wood patterns As Brent mentioned. There is no source outside of the Bensen Library that has wood info. I will go out on a limb and say that all the commercial wood sellers have used old wood and not drawings to produce their kits so even if you were to decide to go that route woodworking would still be necessary.
Sorry I could not be of more help. |
Re: 30/31 Pickup body wood patterns As a former woodworker for many years. Rift Sawn White Oak is the very best wood to use. White Oak is very water resistant compared to it's cousin, Red Oak which has a porous grain. White Oak does not.

Re: 30/31 Pickup body wood patterns I have a set of body blocks (body to the frame) I am not going to use if you want to buy them. Let me know, thanks.

Re: 30/31 Pickup body wood patterns I’m past the wood stage. I found a guy who would sell me just the pieces I needed - rear upper cab brace, wood inside the door jams. Let me know if you want his name.

I bought my wood parts from Alan at
www.classicwoodproductsllc.com They were very knowledgeable, and didn’t insist on making me buy wood that I already had. Pretty good pricing over buying a total wood kit. I just bought some red oak (I know Larry doesn’t like it) for another project - and it wasn’t cheap either. Then you still have the issue of cutting and shaping it. |
