Fog light bulbs

Does anyone sell 6-volt fog light bulbs. I believe that these are sealed-beam type bulbs. The housing that I have would take a 5 1/2 inch O. D. bulb. I am also interested in a clear bulb.

Bratton's does but it doesn't say what diameter.

Give Brattons a call, 1-301-829-9880 They are super people and always happy to answer questions and offer solutions. I'm sure they can tell you the size. The page mentions the bulbs are replacements for their fog lights, but I didn't see the lights listed in the online catalog.

If your bulb is 5 1/2" it is considered a 6" fog light. You need a PAR 46 bulb. Unity has them altho I think you may find them cheaper. 6v PAR 46 bulbs are hard to find tho.

The ones the vendors carry (Bratton's, Snyder's) are PAR 36, 5" Fog lights (bulb measurement 4 1/2").

Do a search for a 6v PAR 46 Fog light.

Speedway motors has 4.5" od bulbs, perhaps others.
Also, Taillightking.com has a bunch of vintage fog lamp and other bulbs.
We've had issues with too much draw on 6 volt sealed lamps (25-35 watt) when used for turn signals and in process of looking for adaptations to fit the housings.

He's looking for a 5.5" bulb...

I am pretty sure I have a couple of 6v PAR 46 amber bulbs. They are the ones that came with the fog lights I bought several years ago. I put 12v in the fixtures. If you’re not in a hurry for them I can look at them when I get home after the holidays.

Re: Fog light bulbs

I have a matching fog light with a bulb in it. It measures 5.625 (5-5/8) inches on the outside diameter. Rechecking the empty housing that I have also measures 5-5/8. I previously said that it was 5-1/2 inches O.D.

On the back of the good bulb is written 4012-A, so I am certain that it is the same as the PAR-46 bulb.

The strange thing is that I submitted a question to Unity asking the outside diameter of their bulb. They replied 5 3/4 inches. I think that they were a little careless with their measurement.

Or check farm stores. Lots of auxillarly lights used back in the day on tractors. Also any rural napa stores may have one. Carquest by us used to stock all sorts of 6v bulbs but they since got bought out by advance

Re: Fog light bulbs

The PAR 46 means the lamp is parabolic shaped and 46 eights of an inch in diameter. So 5-3/4" is its diameter. Having the lamp number or blown lamp should be easily crossed to a replacement by a sales rep.
