New To Model A

Good morning. I am new to this forum and excited to learn a lot more about my 1929 Model A coupe that I just Purchased. I found a very nice car done by a gentleman named Tom Mack Restorations. The car is just what I have been looking for. It has an Wilton Overdrive transmission which makes it a joy to drive. I'll I have to do to this one is clean and maintenance. The restoration is 20 years old but the car looks brand new with only 3200 miles on it since the resto. I own a auto repair shop in Hamilton , Ohio but i know mechanically this is a new venture for me. Look forward to all the good advice I know I will get from you pros. :) Have a great Thanksgiving and thanks for letting join in.

Welcome to the barn, and congratulations on your new car.
Now you must post a picture of the car or I will destroy your puny Planet

Welcome to the Model A family. You should seek out a local chapter in your area. They would be a source of information about the car and the hobby. You will find them very welcoming and helpful as you learn about your new car. You can find local chapters at MAFCA.com

Glad to meet you Eric. I am new to Model A's also. I learned (during the 60's and 70's) to work on muscle cars and motorcycles. I am loving the Deluxe coupe left in my charge. I can give one bit of advice, think of everything you do as if it is 1929. Elbow grease, time and attention, even driving habits must take a step back to when dirt roads ruled the day, you were the only available mechanic and people would stop and stare at the car.

Welcome to the Barn. Pull up a chair and get comfortable.
Once you click on a thread, you have to click on all the others. :). Jeff

Drive her big time. The Model A hates to be parked. Take her for a Turkey Day ride and count the greetings you and she will receive.

Not sure where Hamilton is, but I am planning a tour to Berlin next July. We should have around 15 cars. We could meet you there or pick you up on the way. Our club loves the Amish country.

Eric, if you want to come along, let me know and I'll make room for you. We get there Monday pm and have dinner in an Amish rest. Then a "get lost tour", Tues we tour the area as a group or groups. Cheese factory, hardware store,(AMISH), candy factory and a ton of other places. A different Amish rest.
Wed is the auction in Mount Hope, a lot of fun. More touring and dinner in an Amish home. Come home Thursday.

Eric, once you become familiar with the multiple computer systems and anti pollution devices you will find the Model A easy to repair and maintain! :)
