Re: Scammers are back It's a public board so there's no escaping moron scammers. They read them too. You just have to always be alert. Just delete 'em and move on.
Hey, I just won $16 million in the Irish lottery. All I have to do is send him my bank account number.....:D:D |
Re: Scammers are back Amazing after all this time; are we that stupid or do they think we're that stupid?

Re: Scammers are back I don't recall Ryan making any promises that scammers could/would be eliminated with his new format. I think the few times I have advertised here, or on other forums, I have been contacted by scammers claiming to be in the UK. It seems easy for me to determine they are scammers. Sometimes I play them along for a while with ridicules requests to waste their time.

Re: Scammers are back The latest here in New Zealand is that someone rings up saying there is a problem with your computor[claim they're from microsoft etc] and they can fix it on line if you give them your password, we have had two calls in a week, went to the cop shop yesterday and they have a warning about this on the big screen in the waiting room.please beware.Cheers Tony.

Re: Scammers are back I was recently scammed by an operation right here in the U.S and it is happening to lots of folks each day. Make sure you keep a close check on your phone bill ,like mine ATT ,for an unauthorised third party billing, this has happened to me,neighbor of mine friends and my brother, lots of people don't catch it right away and they make it hard to get a refund. The scamming outfit is called Storefront Riches ,they got me on one of those surveys that is on receipts like WalMart, Olive Garden,JC Penneys etc, where if you fill out the online survey you may get gift cards, free meals or a $1000 drawing. The business don't realize customers are being taken, Storefront Riches are the survey takers or handlers and once they get your info they sneak in a box that is already checked and if you continue without seeing this you have agreed to allow the to third party,Storefront Riches bill your phone bill or internet billing. ATT knows this is going on but they are probably making millions before people catch on. I noticed mine on bill right away but ATT said is was my responsibilty to remove it but I had to fight to stop monthly billing and then again to get refund. They probably get by quite a lot from people who do not catch it right away. By the way the "product " that I supposedly signed up for was to help me with my "business" that I don't have, for $30.00 a month I guess I paid them to sell or distribute my email address to the world. Beware,it is surprising Attorney Generals or media have not stumbled accross this yet.

Re: Scammers are back Usually a scammer will give a beautiful picture of a car or part for sale which is under market price...they will never give contact information like a phone number and always have a third party handle the transaction...what i have noticed lately is they are convincing people it is a safe purchase through ebays buyer protection plan and even use das movers to move the car to you....buyer beware.....crooks will often put there female companions up to taking photos of items....they once convicted a female whom photographed her foot and sandel in the picture!! If it doesnt feel right dont buy it!!
