Shift tower

I'm trying to find out what is acceptable wear on the shift fork shafts. I would prefer to use the original shafts if possible. I can weld the forks and shift lever ball the wear on those parts is very little the fork has wear spot not much bigger than ball on the shift plunger. The gear shift lever ball has about the same amount of wear as the fork both are very shallow about 0.004 deep. The shafts have a wear path 0.089 long not quite 3/32 and again about 0.004 deep. I would send picture but I don't know how. Any help would be appreciated. Jerry

Doesn't sound worn enough to worry about.
If extremely worn, then weld the worn spot and file the open notch to 1/2" plus a few thousandths.

So, it's ok to weld on the forks, too?

My brother was helpful and welded up the ball on the lever, but one of my forks has some wear (oddly enough, the other fork looks great). I'll have him weld up the fork too if it won't hurt it.
