Re: 1934 school bis Please tell us your going to get this bus back on the road and restored. As Jag says, include your general location so others near you may be able to assist in any way.

Re: 1934 school bis In the mountains outside of Aspen Colorado. I've heard from somebody locally the only other 34 school bus is in Disney World trying to find out I bought it to pull the Flathead out from my Coupe but don't think I'm going to do that

Re: 1934 school bus Just tell your insurance man that it is a commercial truck. You dont want to know how much bus insurance is.
|
Re: 1934 school bus That truck is rare, and cool. Have fun....

Re: 1934 school bus Buses in that vintage usually had extreme rot issues due to the propensity of the body or coach builders of the day to use wood in their construction. I'm sure that not all the model BB buses ended in the scrap heap. I've seen several AA and BB buses but It's hard for me to tell the year on the BB chassis. They are all very similar between 1932 and 1934. It would be interesting to know how many coach builders used the Ford BB chassis in that time frame.

Re: 1934 school bus Seriously neat project vehicle. It might be an expensive one to do a spot-on restoration, but building it, replacing much of the wooden top bows and framework with steel would be cheaper and stronger. In the end if it looks right, it is right..

Re: 1934 school bus 2 Attachment(s)
I have a 33 BB bus. It has an all metal body built by the Dix body company of Memphis, Tenn. It was used in the Dallas , Texas area. It is not as complete as this 34, but the all steel body makes it a little more durable. It needs to go to a good home. I saved it out of an old junk yard that was being cleaned out.
