Re: Engine paint

Rob I've got some green Lusteroid engine paint that the engine in my last coupe was painted with before I changed it the correct ford blue. You are welcome to have it as I will never use it. All you will need is the hardner which you can get from Dozers panel beater supply shop ( can't remember the name of it) in Sydney Street Petone.

give us a ring if you like 5699 376.

HI, use POR 15, they do a Ford Green. I painted my engine 15 years ago and its still fine. thats just short of 12,000 miles, not kilometre's. Got mine from The Spraystore in ChCh, but any Auto Paint store worth its weight should have it. Just my 2 cents worth, oops,10 cents worth, we dont have 2 cent piece anymore!! Cheers

IMHO that original engine colour is a terrible shade of green.

Used it straight over the grey engine paint that the engine builder painted on, It is especially formulated for engines, no peeling/flaking/rust etc after all this time. Throw away the brush after useing!!

Hi, I dont know if the colour shows up too good? I took the pump off the other day to swap for Drake pumps( thats another story!) so the paint has been on for a good few years and miles. The can is labelled Ford Green 1928 to 1940 something, faded and torn. 15 years on and the paint was fine to paint the new pumps. Hope this helps, Cheers. p.s Hope all the Florida folks come thru the storm ok, looks terrible
