Turn signal identification question

2 Attachment(s)
Does anyone know the manufacturer of this turn signal kit on my car? I don't see a manufacturer name not any kit similar in the parts distributors. I need to replace this turn signal wiring harness but I like the sleek look of the turn signal arm and how the wires tuck up under the dash rail instead of running down the steering column. If anyone has any suggestions on a new harness that will work the same, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

Brian

Re: Turn signal identification question

The turn signals currently run to the cowl lights and the two rear tail lights. System is 6v positive ground.

Get some wire and connectors and make your own, pretty simple.

It looks like an early VW turn signal unit.

Are these wires typically 12 guage or 16 guage? I can purchase wire from the hardware store if that will work along with connectors.

Thanks

16 gauge will run your turn signals just fine, especially if you use LED bulbs.

Agreed BUT please solder and heat shrink all connections/terminals. Those crimp on butt splices are fine for temporary things but eventually with all the vibrations the wires will break off. Plus you can make solder/heatshrink look alot neater.

I have LEDs for the rear. Love them! I'll look at getting some wires from the hardware store. Thanks
