Newbie Here, My First Post 4 Attachment(s)
Hey Ford Barn, I have been lurking for the past couple weeks since joining and reading a whole bunch of good information. Thought I would share with you my recent acquisition. My very first foray into cars of any sort, let alone an antique.
This is a "barn find" 1929 Tudor 55A, got her a couple weeks ago and have been doing lots of research since. My intentions are to get her running, safely and soundly "As Is" and putter around the local area. Here are a few pictures any comments and tips, suggestions are welcome, and thank you for adding me to the group. |

Re: Newbie Here, My First Post Firstly, welcome to the barn and secondly, I think your plans for the car are spot on. If it has lots of patina, keep it that way. They don't sell patina!

drain/replace all fluids, check electrical system & brakes, grease fittings, new battery,check wheel bearings-tires, and more. Loubob |

Re: Newbie Here, My First Post Eric, I like your car. Welcome to the site. I know you will find a lot of information here. You may want to join a local club. Also before you get too far into dismantling things, get the red book by Les Andrews and any other Model A books you can afford. Join mafca or marc or both if money is free flowing, but get into one or the other. the bimonthly magazine is worth the price of admission. Looking forward to following you progress in this new adventure. Glad to have you aboard

1955 cj5 and Anteek29, the story is; My wife and I retired five years ago, moved from So. California ( Long Beach area) to South Central Tennessee. Last year I decided I was bored and needed to start a business and early this year an opportunity cam e up to buy an antique business. Any way we have had many people coming in wanting to sell stuff and a gentleman came in one day and told us we needed to come see what he had because we might want to buy some. As it turns out Mr. Willett ( who I got the A model From) had the " 29" Tudor for around 35 years setting in a barn. Mr. Willett made an offer I couldn't refuse and now I have a 29 Tudor. Daveymc29, I did get the Red book by Les Andrews, among others, and am probably on my 5th or 6th reading of it. I have been looking at the clubs but have not found anything close to me. I am in Lawerence county Tennessee |

Welcome to the "KRAZY PLACE"--LOL My Dad, Chief, was a NUT for horns! He had them EVERYWHERE! Once, he had 3 Musical Horns, with a trick 3 button switch, clamped to the column. He could make a horn button from a piece of Hacksaw Blade, a little block of WOOD & some Friction Tape. He knew EVERYTHING! Bill W. |
Re: Newbie Here, My First Post Hey Eric, welcome to the group, but you didn’t include a picture of the rear. You lucky devil, what a neat first car. My first one was a ’31 coupe and my love affair with model A’s has lasted all my life, but I think a ’27 T roadster pickup is right up as well.

Re: Newbie Here, My First Post Eric, welcome to the barn. The basics have already been covered by other "barners", so take your time and get the 29 running and learn a lot. Then drive the heck out of it, it is a great hobby and you will meet many great people.
