AC evaporator 1 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys,
My '56 Crown Vic came with Brand X aftermarket AC, which works really well. However, the under-dash evaporator air vents are missing some of their plastic parts and I was wondering any any 'barners' may be able 1) to identify the make of this AC unit (cant find any makers name on it) and/or 2 suggest a source of replacement plastic vents... Regards Colin |
Re: AC evaporator There appears to be a logo at the upper left of the control panel that might identify it. Everybody and his brother were making ac kits back then. It doesn't appear to be one of the major brands such as ARA or Airtemp. You might run it by these guys to see if they can ID it. They may even have parts.

Re: AC evaporator Colin
I would email that picture to Vintage Air & see if they might know? I'm sure that company has seen anything that was ever produced. Just my thoughts Jim |
Re: AC evaporator classicautoair.com would be another vendor that might know

Re: AC evaporator Given the plastic in the center control it looks as if it may be a newer "vintage" look evaporator.

Re: AC evaporator Those appear to be, at least close to, fairly common. Not many small manufacturers want to reinvent the wheel so they buy as much of-the-shelf stuff as they can. Coming up with that particular chrome might prove to be difficult. I'd check Red Dot, Kysor and Ross. Heck, even a trip to the boneyard might yield parts. Concentrate on medium to big trucks, a lot of their a/c is aftermarket.
