'29 Roadster value? Looking at a '29 Model A Roadster (factory rumble seat).
Older restoration (1995) to original. Very Nice condition. What kind of money do these typically list (and sell) for ? Thanks. |

Re: '29 Roadster value? Without seeing the car, pictures, not knowing anything about the car a very broad range is $12,000 to $20,000. We always say on posts like this that if there is a local Model A club in your area, or if you know someone who knows Model A's then please have them go along with you and help make an assessment. There is such a wide range of what people consider "restored".

Re: '29 Roadster value? Yes, it's Geezers (Too Many Cars) 29 roadster. I sold it to him some years back and it was a nice original (even the original seats) out of Windsor Vt. It still has the original seats including the rumble and they have been recovered with Lebaron-Bonney upholstery. The original top bows were in good shape but I replaced the fabric, also LeBaron Bonney. Great little roadster and all rebuilt underneath. I sold it to get my old special coupe back and build a 30 roadster to get more leg room for my 6-3 frame.

Re: '29 Roadster value? The "$12,000 to $20,000" ball-park suggested back up in reply #3 sounds fair, without seeing the car.
If the seller has other A's, he probably knows what it's worth and there's not much wiggle-room on that price. $19,500 doesn't sound outrageous. Sounds like a turn-key driver. |
Re: '29 Roadster value? I like the Roadster, ...I just want to be confident I'm getting it for a fair price before I buy it.
I think I've caught the bug on these model a's.... Thanks for the input so far. |
Re: '29 Roadster value? It will cost more than the asking price to restore one. Sellers know that and want to get as much out of a car as possible. To me the price is a little high. However, if you like it - buy it.

Re: '29 Roadster value? Be sure about the color. I bought one that color and a short time later I couldn't stand it. I'm painting it rose beige.

I don't know if you caught what Barry B. said about leg room, but Roadsters have a really small cab and seating area. I sat in one that a club member owns and I couldn't have lived with it. I'm right at 6' tall with a 34" inseam and my legs were folded up like a pocket knife. |
Re: '29 Roadster value? Thanks for all the input so far !

Re: '29 Roadster value? 1930-31 A roadsters has a little more legroom than 28-29.

Re: '29 Roadster value? kartknut36 .........................
The price sounds a little high. A national 1st place winner would not sell for much more. He is asking that, but, probably, does not expect to get it. He, probably, priced it that way, in case he had to deal with a trade. Talk "turkey" with him, to find out what he would really have to have. MIKE :) |
