Truck oil pan Im building up a spare engine for the 33 or 34 and the only oil pan I have that is in good shape has the large drain plug,in all my gasket sets there is no sealing washer or gasket for it,
any one know where to get one, One thing I did find ,is a gasket from the oil drain tube on my Model A seems to fit,but is a bit thick.and may need some surgery on the plug. Lawrie |
Re: Truck oil pan I use fibre washers from my local supplier...must be a plumbing or hardware store that has them around your place.

Re: Truck oil pan You talking about the plug or the large section thats unbolted...I'm sure you can just make one Lawrie ?...

Re: Truck oil pan I,m over to the local hardware shop this morning for some house plumbing supplies,(my washroom tap blew off and sprayed water every where) so will look for a fibre washer there.

Re: Truck oil pan Yes Lawrie, forget the old copper washer, fibre washers with a 18 mm hole are the ducks nuts! Even a 19mm still works. Copper ones are almost impossible to find these days.
I have the same plug on both my trucks. Dave h |
Re: Truck oil pan Dave the plug is about 1-1/8 dia
Its huge. Lawrie |
Re: Truck oil pan Can't you just make a gasket out of some gasket material from local auto parts store.?
Some folks weld up the big opening and just use the 1 1/8 drain plug. |
Re: Truck oil pan any soft metal, cut up a beer can?

Re: Truck oil pan 1 Attachment(s)
I went to my local hardware store today, they only has real cheap fibre washers, made in Ch++a.so I went with my model A oil pipe washer mod.
turned out great, and the sealing washer is readily availible from my A spares. Lawrie |
