34 Ford column drop shim?

Can any one tell me how thick this piece is? I can make a template from the drop, just don't know how thick it should be. Green Book part number 48 3683-A. Goes between drop and dash. Maybe someone has this piece for sale?

Thanks Ford Barn

Make it yourself. Use flat insertion rubber which has a fabric moulded in it for strength and stiffness. Its approx. 1/8" inch thick. Normal rubber tends to squash out a bit when clamped tightly. Regards, Kevin.

as koates has said make it yourself, the ones the vendors sell are just pieces of rubber strip about an 1/8th thick and yes they just squash when tightened.

I cut a piece from an old inner tube. It works fine, (no more squeaks). I might have doubled it- can't remember.

Go to any glass shop that does plate glass and ask for a setting block, They are hard rubber and come in any thickness you want and are almost the right length for a column drop. I got a 1/4 inch one on my 34 and I drilled a tiny hole through it and inserted an indicator LED for my turn signals. Steve
