Where do you store the cranckhandle? In my tudor is no space to store the crankhandle and jack so i put it behind the seat on the floor.
If my trunk is on the rack i can put it there but the trunk is not always on,only when i go on long runs without a trailer. Where do you put the crankhandle and jack, tools etc.? |

It's not like you use it every day. |
Re: Where do you store the cranckhandle? I though that the Tudor tools were kept under the rear seat? I store mine either in the trunk or under the front seat in my car.

Re: Where do you store the cranckhandle? My crank handle is kept under the drivers seat in my tudor. The jack etc. is under the rear seat.

Re: Where do you store the cranckhandle? I have a jack under the front seat and I found the crank in the floor next to the rumble seat. I'll probably keep both under the front seat.

Re: Where do you store the cranckhandle? I keep the hand crank in a handy location. Under driver seat, or on floor in rear seating area. I am prone to drive a couple hundred miles at a time. Thus, I feel the need for a quick re-torque of all the wheels just in-case. I have the original tool pouch for each of my 5 model A's. I try to store the tool pouches under the rear seat, but I also keep a "travelling" tool box. That I take from car to car just in case. This travel tool box keeps my tuning tools, rags, bulbs, gloves, reading glasses, spare whatevers ect......
The trunk on the back of the tudor and the roadster are a godsend when travelling with friends in the cars. The biggest challenge I usually find is where to store the jug of coolant, so it doesn't tip over. Jeff |

Re: Where do you store the cranckhandle? On most models there is room under the front seat. On a tudor there is room under the rear seat.

Re: Where do you store the cranckhandle? My uncle told me when he was a kid he saw a lot of fights were cranks were used so they must have had them handy! Tough for the T driver

Re: Where do you store the cranckhandle? Under the rear seat in a tudor ! Just push the lower cushion back, then lift up. If you shocks aren't working, put some padding in there ! :-) Points, plugs, rotor, cap etc, no room for a starter or generator. Someone makes boxes that under the pan under the rear seat, but you have to cut two big holes each side of the drive shaft :-(

Doesn't that make sitting kinda uncomfortable? ;) I stored tools under the seat - small stuff in the pouch and crank and jack wrapped in shop rags to keep from rattling (also good for wiping hands). Course that was a coupe that had a handy under-seat pan for the purpose. How about a toolbox on the running-board? More common on Model T but should work on A - don't think they're reproduced but original examples aren't too uncommon. |
Re: Where do you store the cranckhandle? Leave the crank behind.
Park on a hill . . . . |
Re: Where do you store the cranckhandle? All of my tools, jack and handles, crank handle, towels, go under the rear seat.

Re: Where do you store the cranckhandle? Crank usually sits in the passenger seat.

But dad want if I have a flat and need to put on the spare? Don't hand crank it, if it doesn't break your arm, I will ! Yes I did, many years later, it started right up! |
