Wolf Whistle again

I have a Wolf Whistle that came out of my father-in-laws garage in 1948, when he closed it. I am putting it in my car because I had one in 1951 when I had my first Model A. I don't remember how I hooked up the wire or string from the whistle to the interior of the car. It will have to be easy to find when that 75 year old chick is going down the street in her walker. I will punch a hole in the firewall but the string will just hang there next to the fire wall and be hard to reach when driving. Any ideas will be appreciated. Jack

You might come trough the hole where the GAV comes through the fire wall and hang the wire around the GAV knob.

Good luck with that 75 year old chick is going down the street in her walker.

I used a brake cable from my English 3 speed bike for the wolf whistle I had in high school.
That way I could have good control by using the brake handle, and the cable allowed easy routing to an existing hole.

I use a wire through the hollow floor mat retainer, and have the end hooked to the choke knob with enough slack that I can reach it easily.

I've not had good luck with these whistles. I have two of them and took them off. They were a huge vacuum leak. Hope yours works better.

Lee, post # 7: "I've not had good luck with these whistles."

Ditto for me too Lee.

The first time I used it . . . . . I was slapped quite hard across my face.
The second time I used it . . . . . I had a cup of hot coffee thrown at me.
The third time I used it . . . . . I was arrested for harassing college Co-Eds.

If you see a 75 year old chick with a walker, just pull off the road open the hood and operate the whistle with your hand. She isn't going anywhere too fast.
