luggage racks for Model A's

Hey Brent and Vince,

Is the Zipp-A-Rak luggage rack still available? That is the one a guy in California used to make that is telescopic. Dale Gosa

I have somebodys' ??? Re-Pro on Vermin. It once hauled a SHORT BLOCK from Northern Ca, to L.A.---
"Someone" on here was once involved with the Re-Pros.
Berts, in Denver was "thinking" once, about making them.

John LaVoy (publisher of the Model A Times) made them previously. No longer available.

Find one and copy it. I've never seen one but it can't be that difficult.

You know, I had a thought. You could make one from bedrail, it is about the best steel I have found for welding and it should be about the same size, and who doesn't have bedrail laying around the shop?

Re: luggage racks for Model A's

It's NOT made with angle iron. Has 3 heavy flat irons on each side that nest together & telescope out. It would NOT be EASY to duplicate!!!
Sorry I can't get out to the garage to get pics. "Maybe" La Voy has pics??
I "heard" that a Bill Miller made Re-Pros also, but don't know who/where he is. There was also a Bill Miller, in Las Vegas, that was somehow connected with NASCAR????---(LOVE NASCAR!)

I learned the hard way that you don't cut a bed frame on your band saw. I wiped out the teeth on a brand new blade when I tried to cut a bed frame.

Bed rails can be hard to cut and aren't that strong.

Does anyone have a picture of one of these?
