29 Phaeton front seat adjustment

I have a '29 standard Phaeton, the problem is that the front bench seat will not adjust back to allow for a more comfortable driving position. Is it possible to modify the front seat to allow for adjustment? Will universal seat tracks do the trick? Has anyone done this modification? HELP!

You didn't mention if it was tudoor or a four door. I have a 30 Phaeton and there is no way to adjust the seat. I took the back rest and seat cushion out and tied down the springs with bailing wire to gain a little more room. It helped some. It's just the way the cars built. I think you will find other posts on this in the search tool top of the page.

The seat back is a formed part of the body, so it's not adjustable. The only thing to reasonably do is shorten the seat and back springs or use a thin foam pad instead of springs.
