Information about 1930 Eyebrow Fenders I have just acquired a pair of 1930 Eyebrow front fenders. From the info I have they where only made for the month of January 1930. One fender is rough and the other is average. I'm debating to restore them or to leave them be. So any info you have will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Information about 1930 Eyebrow Fenders I've seen two styles of '30 eyebrows. One with a straight ridge all around the front, one with a widow's peak in the center. I don't know who stamped them, but I wish I had a pair!

Re: Information about 1930 Eyebrow Fenders 1930-1931
With the introduction of the 1930 models, there were two styles of front fenders. • Some early 1930 front fenders had a wraparound bead on the front which is typically referred to as an "eyebrow" fender. The inner edge (hood side) of the fender had a 3/8" wide flange that was folded under, providing a double thickness. This hemmed flange ran parallel to the inner edge of the top frame rail. The fender was flat, not embossed, at the two 5116" holes for the frame and front radiator splash shield attachment. The front fender shield (running board shield extension) was spot welded to the fender. The "eyebrow" fender was phased out by February 1930. |
Re: Information about 1930 Eyebrow Fenders I had friend with a murray town sedan, 1930 original that had the eyebrow fenders. Can't say which type.

Re: Information about 1930 Eyebrow Fenders I believe it is written on the print that these were to be for the Fordor Sedan only. John, quite frankly, I question whether it is worth restoring those from a financial vantage point. There are still some decent ones that show up from time to time and they don't seem to bring any type of premium for being unique.

Re: Information about 1930 Eyebrow Fenders While sanding, one Guy discovered he had 1 eyebrow fender that had been BONDOED, to look like a regular one!

Re: Information about 1930 Eyebrow Fenders "While sanding, one Guy discovered he had 1 eyebrow fender that had been BONDOED, to look like a regular one!
Bill W." Out of necessity for lack of a decent replacement eyebrow fender, I did the same thing on a friend's '30 Coupe 20+ years ago. I saw the car a month ago and the Bondo still looks like it was originally a factory eyebrow fender = no cracks, chips or missing chunks. The "eyebrow" is not hollow underneath like originals, however. 'Still better than having mismatched front fenders all these years, isn't it? Marshall |

These eye brow fronts are on a car that was "restored in 1958, and I use the term "restored" loosely. The good news is that he was able to buy these eye brow fenders NOS from the local ford dealer. Apparently, a few sets of eye brow front fenders WERE available as replacements.

Re: Information about 1930 Eyebrow Fenders Thanks Guys. Interesting to see that there are two different styles. The set I have are like the ones Mike Peters is showing in his post. I'm helping a young guy with his 30 Town Sedan maybe we'll fix them up and put them on his car. Time will tell.

Re: Information about 1930 Eyebrow Fenders My 29 Town sedan had eye brow front fenders. The car had twin side mount spare tires. The car had every special goodies that they offered back then.
