Help finding Frame # on my model A

7 Attachment(s)
Hello all,
I inherited this Model A chassis from my father when he passed. I would like to finish it up, but I have been unable to find the serial #. I have sanded in all the spots I thought it may be. Is it possible it doesn't have a number stamped into the frame?
I have enclosed some pictures of the areas I looked along with the engine #. I am thinking this is a 28-29 frame, can someone confirm this for me.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

It looks like you have looked in all the right places. I have heard that some frames are so rusty the number has disappeared.

Could it be a Canadian frame? I believe they were not stamped.

The number was stamped on the left side of the frame near the clutch pedals. It looks as though you may have sanded it where the number should be. Sometimes the numbers are VERY faint and so lightly stamped that you may not be able to see them. You may want to try some light acid (the acid that they use in coin shops). Maybe that will work for you.

Henry didn't put them there.

Your frame is a late 29-early 30.

Go here to really key it out better:

Turn all the lights out in your garage and take a small flashlight and hold it at a very shallow angle to the surface of the frame. This will help create shadows and may reveal light stampings that are invisible in normal light.

Lend me some number stamps, and I can find the numbers in a few minutes.

On my late '31 Tudor it was back of the brake cross shaft, further back than most said it would be.

From the HAMB:
Have a look HERE... https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...os-lab.224974/

Bluto, now in a secret bunker in Warsaw Pact territory, is a restorer, racer, and parts manufacturer for very high end antique European race cars (think of vehicles with cotter pins worth more than your car.) This is advice from someone who has played this game with very high stakes.
Nothing to lose...easy, cheap, and the only risks are blindness and a few third degree burns.
