What are these parts suppose to do? 1 Attachment(s)
The two parts shown in the photo were taken off an early 1930 Cabriolet. They were on the inside of the cowl, one on each side. There was a nut attaching the parts to the bolts that secure the cowl lacing into the recess areas on each side of the cowl. We are speculating that they may have something to do with the kick panels or possibly a wiring harness. We have straightened them some because they were both bent up pretty bad. We would like to find out what the parts were suppose to do and possibly a photo to show the correct shape.

Re: What are these parts suppose to do? Those brackets support the cowl lamp wiring. The bracket should have a rubber grommet in them or the wiring is enclosed in a cloth sheath.

There is one on the firewall held be a terminal box screw also

Here is the use of the clips, use the large opening for two wires and small opening for passenger single wire.
