Radiator Cap Repair

1 Attachment(s)
I flipped open my radiator cap and it separated from the hinged part of the base. This cap does not have a temp gauge.
A few guys said that the bolt was missing but there was never a bolt in there.
The area marked "A" is actually recessed.
I can push "A" into "B" and it will lock to the main base when you twist it but I'd prefer to secure it to that piece with the hinge.

Is there a way to repair this?

Thanks
Leo

Leo , Here is a link to when I had the same problem last year , and the responses I got about it . I wound up drilling the top , threading the hole and bolting the top back on using a stainless bolt . Worked great .

Here are a couple of pics , mine is far from a "point's " type car , so having the screw head showing dosent bother me at all .

How did you get a nice clean hole on top after drilling from the underside?
