Open trailer towing.. "29 Special Coupe being transported on an open trailer.. about a 2 hour drive,
what's your "opinion", Forward facing on the trailer.. or to the rear.? |
Re: Open trailer towing.. Forward. The front of the car is designed to handle the wind better than rearward. JMO. Jeff

Re: Open trailer towing.. Forward. In addition to what Jeff said, the weight balance will be better.
|
Re: Open trailer towing.. Forward facing and cover the w/s, and headlights. I covered mine with cutout circles cut from an old corrugated yard sign. Used 2" blue painters tape to hold them on.

Re: Open trailer towing.. Someone said semi truck cab wind deflectors ( cab top to trailers) make good deflector for open trailers and are cheap!
|
Re: Open trailer towing.. I agree with all the above. I have trailered Model A's for over 24 years always facing Forward. My trailer has a large deflector dam in front which prevents damage from flying objects. I have trailered Model A's as far as from Texas to Georgia and Maryland to Georgia.

Re: Open trailer towing.. Thanks for all the advice/opinions.. successful tow today to the destination.!!
