Door Post Wood

I have a 1931 Coupe. I ordered the wood piece in the picture below from Fordwood. I am not sure how to attach this to the channel in the door post. Do I glue/epoxy it, is it somehow screwed in, or what? The door post area did not have this piece, so I don't have an example.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

And a few nails for the body skin, i think, in the door opening. It's been a while, and maybe a couple of nails install by ford behind the body skin that you can't get to easily, again it's been awhile

A Fordwood piece. Expect to need a wood chisel and beltsander to get the depth correct. Just went through this last week.
Patience......

You've seen that REALLY strong adhesive used to glue in windshields, I've seen it used in HIDDEN places, to help secure wood pieces such as this one.

I'm working on replacing these in my 30 coupe. I bought new ones and they do not have the lower slot. It looks like that is for the long bolt that goes though the door post to the door frame backed by a square nut. Is that correct? Also, the upper screw hole is not centered. I'm assuming that's going to have to be filled and redrilled.
