Sparton Horn Cover Plate rivets question....
 

I received my Sparton horn cover plate in the mail today and the two included rivets are the split style.
I was expecting pop rivets for my Arrow pop riveter.
Do all suppliers ship their covers with split rivets?
What have 'others' on the Fordbarn used to attach the plate?

Thanks for your reply.
However, just how do I get a 'tight' attachment as a pop rivet would?
I did start to try a long straight slot screwdriver but quit B4 I thought
I might mess up the rivet.

I used a piece of nylon to back up the head of the rivet then after spreading the rivet I tapped it with a small hammer.
I believe the tag should be mounted so you can read it from the front of the car.

Thanks for the info.
After I spread the rivet I used a clamp with a plastic cap on the outside of the cover
and was able to cinch up the rivet head flush/tight to the cover plate by flattening the legs inside the cover.
It looks very nice.

Which supplier sells the correct split rivets for the Sparton horn tag?

X2, and you can also have A&L stamp the numbers in the plate.:)
