What color is the hood on this special Model A truck?
 

Can anyone tell me if the hood on this truck is a Model A color?
If so, what is the name of the color?

It looks like Sage green to me (not an A body color).

Or maybe a Valley Green, that was a '29 belt and molding color.

Special (custom) built bodies made by coach building companies (of which there were many) used a color scheme selected by the fleet order of the customer. Generally the custom coachwork companies bought Chassis which consisted of front fenders and all body components from the cowl forward. I am not sure what color, if any, the cowl, hood & fenders were painted at the Ford factory, before the coach building company took delivery. But in any event, once at the coach builder's shop the color changed to suit the customer's fleet order. So when the commercial service vehicle left the builder's shop, it rarely had stock Ford colors.

Looks like Dawn Grey an original color for 28 Tudor sedan .

I had that on my Tudor bought from Ditzler paint

That is a beautiful 28 Tudor that Mike posted, and I like the colors, but I've seen other colors also called Dawn Gray. One I saw about 20 years ago had a bit of light green and gray also showing the color.

Here is the original Gunmetal Blue on my 28 firewall.

Dawn Gray comes in both light and dark. My coupe has the dark color on the body and the light color for the accents. The dark is the same as on the Tudor posted by Mike.

Notice the hood louvers on the early 1928 Tudor Mike posted.
They are all the same length, while later ones got longer as they went towards the rear of the hood, so the top ends would be parallel to the hood hinge.

OK, now with such a beautiful car, why isn't the sun visor covered?

I'm going with the Bonnie Grey. I have a 1929 Tudor that color, looks real close.

A friend used to own the truck. I know he painted the hood and the tailgate a Model A color, but I don't remember him telling me what color it was before he passed away.

I'd say Dawn Gray Light. It's the color of my roadster, and I ordered Dawn Gray Light paint. Sort of a gray/green.
