Removing the driveshaft seal and bearing sleave I vaguely remember a technique for easily removing the seal and bearing sleeve from the front of the torque tube. It involved placing a certain size socket, I can't remember what size, on the driveshaft itself and banging the torque tube on the driveshaft with the socket on it. If anyone remembers the technique, please post it.

Re: Removing the driveshaft seal and bearing sleave I use the KR Wilson tools.. maybe Tom near you has one you can use... or one of his home made inventions.
some Guys use a large socket to install the sleeve as you noted. Larry Shepard |

Re: Removing the driveshaft seal and bearing sleave Use a 1&1\16" six point socket. It will slip right over the spline end of the drive shaft.
Place a drive shaft vertical on a block of wood on the shop floor with the spline end up. Put the socket on the spline. Slide the torque tube over it and bounce it several times while holding a rag over the end of the torque tube to catch all the cruddy parts exiting the torque tube. Tom Endy |
