CCPU top bow hole question

2 Attachment(s)
I bought a top wood kit for my CCPU that was made by Classic Wood. I noticed that on one end of all four bows, one screw hole was drilled and countersunk perpendicular through the end of the wood. However the other end was drilled at an angle, maybe 25 or 20 degrees toward the end of the bow. Does anyone know why the holes are drilled differently? Also, why are they different and which end with the angled hole goes to the front or rear. I suspect the angled hole is probably to reduce the chance the wood below the bow doesn't split. If that is the reason, why aren't both ends drilled at an angle? I am posting pictures of the ends in question with a dowel in the holes to show the angle of the holes.

What cab are you working with? The mid 1930-31 body style only has 3 bows. Not 4 as you have. You sure you have the right kit.
On my 1930-31 cab I have some of the original wood and the holes you're showing look as though they go straight through. Not angled. The bolts go up through the metal roof tin, through the wooden support and continue up through the roof bow. The top of the roof bow should have a recess for the square nut and washers.

The end that is rounded off goes on the rear of the cab, the squared off end goes on the front of the cab.

Once you get them fitted you'll see why the holes are drilled at an odd angle on the front.

Thanks to all that posted. Hitman is correct. I should have checked the rear top piece and I would have seen the curved area that matches the one end of the bow. I guess I am getting old and forgetting things.
