which junction box post ? Wanna power up my logolite directional signals. Directions says to run the fuse wire through the junction box and connect to the post. I currently have an electric windshield wiper that operates from the left side post from the outside. Can I connect my logolite power wire to this same post to power these lights as well. assuming left side is driver side. Thanks in advance for all replies...... Dutie

Re: which junction box post ? When you operate the wiper does the ammeter move?
If yes wire the other post. If no wire to the same post. I would not want to see the meter move every time the lamps flash. |
Re: which junction box post ? Yep, do as Mike said because normally the ammeter is to show only the charge going into the battery, or if the lights get left on, then the charge coming out of the battery.
At the end of 1929 Ford did change the wire feeding the coil to the other junction box terminal so you could watch the needle swing as the engine cranked. This is a good diagnostic tool when the engine doesn't fire right up, so I switched my 1928 to the other side also. |
Re: which junction box post ? Hi Dutie,
When I received my Logolites, for a connection, I read where they specified a particular junction box post; and I remember it was "not" the post most recommended to use for most other accessories. I called Logolite and they explained why .... but honestly, I cannot remember why ..... think it had something to do with the coil ..... followed their recommendation with no problems. Because of this past experience, it may or may not be advantageous to call the manufacturer for an explanation. |
Re: which junction box post ? Mike and Tom, why don't you want to see a draw on the amp meter? I like to know when the electrial system has a load. If nothing else it could be a reminder that the lights are still on

Re: which junction box post ? Hi Dutie,
Per reply no. 4 above: From my 2006 10 year old Logolite's 8-1/2" x 11" Instruction Sheet, dated 2006: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INSTALLATION Step 2: RUN WIRES 13. Connect ring terminal to the terminal block post that the ignition coil is "not" connected to. "Caution: DO NOT connect to ignition switch terminals." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ On these same Logolite instructions is a diagram indicating connecting the Logolites to the passenger side post of the junction box. Even though I spoke to the owner to clarify instructions .... my order was processed by a lady named 'Gloria" .... like "Gloria Hallelujah" ..... this might help also if she is still working there!!!! |
