Gear shift knob thread size

I think it is 5/16x24, However, my hands are so shaky and my eyesight so poor, I can't be positive. I finally found a knob with the "H pattern" 1,2.3 R engraved on it but the thread sizes are different and I need to buy a barrel spacer to accommodate the differences.

I tried the search section but got no results.

Thanks in advance. :)

I kinda collect older shifters, and I find that the cheaper ones (Spark-oMatic, Fenton, etc.) have 5/16" threads for the shifter handle, while the Hurst's have 3/8" threads.

Lawson, if you are talking about the '30s toploader, yes it is 5/16" x 24.

Re: Gear shift knob thread size

I have been able to only find the 5/16/24 by outside communist thread. EV8s have a 5/16 fine thread (24) gearshift size and all the knobs I have found have 1/2 fine thread outer barrel size If anyone knows a source for us threads in and out, would like to know.
