Assembly line movie |
Re: Assembly line movie interesting clip. they sure did not have the problems we have in dropping that engine into the frame, did they.
|
Re: Assembly line movie That was interesting.
I couldn't make out what they were connecting to on the front of the engine to lift it and turn it right side up. |
Re: Assembly line movie I like the guy installing the radiator... just slam it on in there buddy!

Re: Assembly line movie Who can date the final assembly?
It has the squeeze handle parking brake in front of the gear shift, but has no fan shroud. |
Re: Assembly line movie This is the second video I've seen that shows a lot of smoke emitting from the tail pipe. I wonder if it is actual smoke or if the videos were filmed during winter.

Re: Assembly line movie Great movie, thanks for posting.
One question ; why are the cars driving out of the assembly line without tires on the spare wheels ? |
Re: Assembly line movie I always shake my head when they feel the need to add in a video of the Model-T assy line too when making a Model-A line video. :p  :p

Re: Assembly line movie Thanks for posting! I couldn't tear myself away. I was wondering about the missing spare tires too. Once again, it's proven that Henry did almost everything right, I'd love to see some of his mistakes. You know, what got left behind on the cutting room floor, so to speak. I'm always amazed at his insistence for "vertical integration", he owned the mines and the forests and even made his own glass and had 100% control over the finished product. Something we're just relearning.
Thanks again, Terry |

Regarding the spare tire, we all know that Ford bragged about their car being less $$ than Chevrolet, but when you add in the price of the "mandatory accessories" (bumpers, oil, tire), then he was no longer the cheapest. :p |
Re: Assembly line movie Awesome Read I enjoyed the video watched it multiple times

Re: Assembly line movie Nice film, just makes it all the more real just how old our cars are... Amazing any survived beyond WWII.

Re: Assembly line movie Watchin' these videos reminds me of some Abbott & Costello MOVIES--LOL
Chief learned many of his skills, working on Model T's, but HATED them. He said, "They're cantankerous old TRAPS, poor brakes, insane steering, don't run very fast & a nightmare to operate"!!!---(IF you could get it started!) He LOVED the Model A & considered it to be the "CAR OF THE FUTURE"!!!---Thus began his lifelong Model A experiences! After they had been around for a few years, he'd buy DEFUNCT or DAMAGED cars, make them run dependably & sell them, so we could EAT WELL! Chiefs' Son, Bill W. |
Re: Assembly line movie Enjoyed the clip. Ford sure had an amazing assembly line. I wonder what his accident rating was? I would love to have a crowd working on my car like that!!
