40 Ford Coolant Capacity I have a stock 40 Ford Deluxe. I am going to flush out the cooling system.
How much antifreeze do I need to add? No heater. P.S. I live in San Diego....it never freezes. |
Re: 40 Ford Coolant Capacity If I recall correctly It holds 22 qts.

Re: 40 Ford Coolant Capacity I use two gallons of Sierra antifreeze, and top off the system with distilled water. It does freeze here in Iowa, but if I was in San Diego, I'd use just the distilled water with a dose of anti rust additive.

Re: 40 Ford Coolant Capacity Hot or cold climate, I do a 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze, replacing it every 2-3 years. I start out at a 5 gallon capacity and bring the rest with me adding some every few days until I see an antifreeze puddle under the car after a run. That means I had too much in there. Of course, all of this depends on the condition of your radiator, black, thermostats, and driving conditions ........

Re: 40 Ford Coolant Capacity Where is the best drain point to remove coolant? I've drained from the radiator petcock to change thermostats, but get at most two gallons when flow stops.

Re: 40 Ford Coolant Capacity I remove the lower radiator hoses from the radiator.
