Beauty rings for 1935 Ford Wire Wheels Happy New Year!
I can use some help...I am looking to add beauty rings to my 16" ford wire wheels but can't seen to find the right part number. I try running several searches but couldn't find anything. Can someone post a part number or where to buy a set of beauty rings? I see most vendors have the smooth and ribbed style but none are listed for the early wheels...most go +1940's. Thank you in advance. |

Re: Beauty rings for 1935 Ford Wire Wheels It just might be that you are over thinking the subject about 16" beauty rings, they are about as common as dirt in various qualities. Bill Hirsch is well known for his high quality beauty rings and Spider caps. Drake and Carpender also sell good beauty rings.
The common '35-40 16" beauty ring is the smooth style which measures approximately 1-1/8" wide.. This style is commonly called "smooth", in '41 Ford came out with the 5 rib style. There is one variant of the "smooth" 16" which is 1-3/8" wide. This type of ring is usually found on the larger cars, Buick, Packard, etc. My '40 Buick has/had 1-3/8" wide beauty rings on 6.5" wheels. The street rod guys seem to prefer the five rib type of beauty ring, why I have no idea. |
Re: Beauty rings for 1935 Ford Wire Wheels Dear Mr. Roll,
After searching for trim rings for my 16 inch Kelsey's I finally got a set together. I put them on the rims, stood back and took a look, decided I didn't like them (everyones taste is different) and took them off. Charlie Stephens |

In some cases I like 'em and sometimes I don't, but they are quite abundant at swap meets that I attend.
