Hey Dennis, a little more info if you would.

Is your car still 6v?
Is the buzzer 6v or 12v?
How about a pic of the paperwork that came with the buzzer, or at least a link to the paperwork.
Have you tried to hook the buzzer across your battery? And if so, did it work? with which wires used?
Need more info.

Try to find SIMPLE 2 wire buzzers, they're "FOOLPROOF"!

A lot of those are made using diodes which are polarity specific. If your car is positive-ground (positive-earth) as it came from the factory it likely won't work. Try reversing it, the black wire and one of the red wires (leave the other red wire disconnected). If it buzzes for one direction, either right turn or left turn, that is likely the problem. Unfortunately, I've never seen one of those three-wire units made for positive-ground. I made my own with an inexpensive 6-volt buzzer and a couple of diodes I bought at an electronics shop.

I have a 12v negative ground, but what I did was ebay some cheap pizo buzzers that were two wire. I put two in, one for left and one for right. Tied the black grounds together and attached them to chassis ground. Attached the reds to the turn signal wires, which were not wired correctly based on the original diagram, but found them with trial and error. The pizos are very loud, so even with my bad hearing, I can't miss them. I tied them to the steering column with tiny black tie wraps, which is where I spliced them in to the turn signal wiring. I do like the audible signal now and because they're a bit loud, I turn them off as soon as I can.

If you buy two you can reverse the wires for positive ground and they support a range of voltages. They were only a couple of bucks each at most, so maybe worth just doing that.

Those look pretty much like the buzzer I got from Snyders.

For the 535 flasher (6V), connect black wire to the "P" (pilot) terminal and the buzzer red wire to ground. Only one buzzer is needed.

Buy a low current 5vdc buzzer off of ebay or Radio Shack. Wire it ACROSS the flasher terminals. When the flasher opens, the buzzer will sound. When the flasher is closed, no sound. Simple, low cost, effective. No need for two buzzers either. You can also buy a CLICKER that wires up identically but just gives a loud "CLICK" instead of a beep.

I don't hear good anymore so I went with two half inch size green lights mounted in my dash. One on each side of the speedometer. My dash isn't too good anyway. Now if I forget and leave the signal on either I see it blinking or my girlfriend tells me about it.

Bought a two wire from Snyders...very loud, so I wrapped it in foam to quiet it a bit.

The comments about using one buzzer versus two, reminded me why I ended up using two. The previous owner didn't have the flashers wired per the diagram that came with the unit and my flasher is a 3 wire flasher. the light on the flasher control doesn't flash either. But the flasher control basically worked correctly as it's wired, so I left well enough alone and had to put a buzzer on the wire that flashed the left tail light as well as one on the right side. But yes, one buzzer should work if wired correctly in the first place.
