Engine rebuild stand, flathead and others

2 Attachment(s)
I have seen on the posts of inquiries of engine rebuild stands for the flatheads. I have built quite a few engines and here is what i built. This also makes it real easy to install the cam without damaging the cam bearings. Also in the last picture it shows a c---y engine mounted with my transmission adapter. I just change the mounting brackets to the type engine i rebuild.

It really is nice to be able to point the block straight upwards and lower the cam into the block. Yours looks very robust.

I ad asked about what to use for "Deep Bell" OHV (Olds Rockets, early early hemis, etc.) engines in the earlier thread. Yours looks like it would requires the heads to bolted to the block to work, correct? It would be good for minor repairs, but not for a complete overhaul, I would imagine. Unless I am missing something, this wouldn't be the solution to my problem.

Tubman, on the earlier engines the brackets bolt on where the motor mounts would be, look at the last picture with the transmission adapter, the engine is a sbc and the tube bracket bolts on where the motor mounts would be.
