Light switch question Does anybody put dielectric grease on the light switch faceplate thought it might make it turn easier and help to protect the contacts from corrosion good idea or bad?

Re: Light switch question Put Vaseline onto the base of a light bulb and you won't like the results afterwards.
CorrosionX would do the same as dielectric grease. They make a light bulb grease sold at AutoZone and such which is probably better than Dielectric grease. |
Re: Light switch question ok thanks for the suggestions

Re: Light switch question Some say, "A little steering box oil leaking into the switch will RUIN it"!!!----Others will say, "NAW, it will just make it work SMOOTHLY"!!!---What the HECK do we believe????---The Guys that told me this were DEAD SERIOUS about it.

Re: Light switch question grease and oil is not a good thing there having dealt with it on a 37 ford pickup but checked all connections and light switch positions and they work fine.

Re: Light switch question I always lube the switch either with dielectric, or Mystik JT-6 High Temp grease. Both work fine for me.
Years ago I used Vaseline to put in the light sockets on my Scout and trailers. I soon found out about it melting at a low temp and running out of the socket and all over the bulb. Lesson learned. :) |
