Wasn't 1936 a one year only with a longer snout?

37 to 39 are a better choice. 36 will fit but the bearing and seal are different amd more expensive

Sorry, I disagree that 37-39 are a better choice. The length of the 32 stub axle is close to that of the 36 and the offset of backing plate is the same. As Canuck says; 36 has a longer snout. [32 has the long snout too] OHV Deluxe asked about stock 32, I assume he means to retain the mechanical brakes. ??

'36 -'39 rears should all work. Only '36 will work on the front.

Something wrong with the answers to this question. I would double check before committing too much. Fred A

'32-35 have the long spindle up front...'36 has short spindle. It has same bolt pattern as '32-5, but spindle length same as '37-48. So, I think, you would use a bearing spacer on the '32 just as with a hydraulic conversion. Would '36 drum then have its working surface too deep to fit '32? I do believe it is a deeper drum then the earlies or the '37-48's. I think...this is all getting confusing! At any rate, '36 spindles are oddballs.

Not confusing at all. 36 front drums will fit up to 32 spindles. Only thing is the 32 brake shoes are narrower.

'36 drums will require a bearing spacer to fit '32-5, just as with '37-48 drums. '36 went to the short spindle.
