Odd coolant leak

I replaced the old head with a 5.5-1 and installed a new gasket. Everything is tightened to 55lbs. I noticed some coolant pooling around the nut on the rear driver side stud. I don't see coolant in the cylinder and the exhaust doesn't look as if it's burning anything. Ran the car a few times and have tightened everything to 55lbs several times. Can I was a coolant additive to seal the gasket leak?

There is a ceramic additive available at Snyders. Worked for me. Wayne

It happens a lot that the threads for the studs have been punched thru to the water jacket and will leak coolant thru the threads in the stud.

Take the stud out (after lowering the coolant level sufficiently) and coat the threads with some black Permatex and re-install it.

When that happened to me, I simply added a little radiator stop leak - looks like ground pepper. The leak stopped in very short time and hasn't leaked again in several thousand miles. Try the simple things first.

It will seal on its own,, just run it, and do your retorques as needed... Technician in a can is not needed
