Another What Is It Tool Superior

I think there was Superior Steel or Superior Tool in Benton Harbor, Michigan, but I don't know what they made. Does anyone know what this tool is used for?

A steel drum bung is all I can think of, but I don't think it looks quite right for that.

seems odd - but could it be this?

Prevents rotation during installation and removal

Speaking of strain, I just stopped by the second hand store and bought a fine screen strainer for $1 that looks like a perfect fit for the top hose of a Model A.

Hey Tom, can you 'splain the strain used on the top hose of a Model A?

Here's a picture of the $1 strainer I got at the second hand store today. I just measured the OK of the rolled lip and got 2 1/4", so if I grind off the 1/4" long sleeve with rolled lip, then it will fit nicely against the radiator inlet. I use a thermostat at the lower end of the hose, next to the cast outlet, so the junk will be trapped between the two. I can remove the hose to check for accumulated junk (rust) once or twice a year.

I just installed a couple of drains in bathroom vanities, and didn't even know there was such a tool. It certainly would have helped to keep the visible parts of the drain in the correct position while you tighten the large rubber washer under the sink. Dang.

Spud Wrench and / or strainer wrench (as in the kind of drain strainer that consisted of two bars, forming a 90* cross.).

Holds the strainer / tail-piece still while you try to loosen that big nut on the underside that hasn't turned in our lifetime.

I've got one of those sink tools; if I ever get around to starting a new religion, that's going to be its icon.

Does this new religion include profanity and curses to previous plumbing attempts?:D "OH great plumbing gods why must you curse me with this 37.6* angle!"

No kidding, I just got back from the home improvement store for plumbers putty. I'm sure I have about a dozen tubs of it but cannot find. Got the wrench and the big wrench for underneath. Just skip the handy looking adjustable wrench for underneath and break out the dremel and cut off the retaining nut. Saves lots of knuckle's and blood.
