1934 pickup splash apron mount
 

I purchased a splash apron from a 1934 ford model BB truck with the understanding it was the same as a 1934 ford pickup except for the cut outs for the spreader bar on the truck. Trying to mount it on my pickup, it fits the contour of my grill shell perfect but hits the cross member causing the front mounting holes to stick out 2.5 inches passed the mounting bolts on the frame. It also seems to be 4 inches too narrow for the frame. I found a 34 truck to compare this apron and seems to be correct for the truck. The frame horns are longer on the truck but I could not get a good measurement on the width of the frame horns on the truck. So far I haven't found a pickup to compare. I don't know if I am doing something or there is actually a difference between the truck and pickup. Any help and advise will be strongly welcome. Thanks 34pup.

The front apron does not bolt to the frame.
The front apron should be narrower than the frame.

The front apron attaches to the side flange of the fender and should be 1-2" away from the frame horn. The flat of the fender is not centered on the top of the frame horn, it is offset to the inside. The bolt hole on the top of the fender is almost where the fender begins rising, with the hole centered in the frame.

If you do not get it figured out post pictures and someone here will likely let you know what is wrong.

Thanks Karl. I was going by the diagram on Bob Drake. I will mount my fenders and hope for a good outcome.
