Feb 1929 Tudor...front carpet or rubber mat...

My February 1929 Tudor has NO attachments to hold the rubber mat as most cars do that have them.

My question then is this...did those Tudors that originally came with a carpet, and not a rubber mat, have or did not have the mat studs with in the front compartment?

How was the front carpet fastened to the floor? Did it just lay there or were there snaps to hold it as with the original rear carpet for which this car has. (There is no indication of screwed in snaps anywhere).

And NO, they (the rubber mat studs) were not removed at some time in its life as there is absolutly no indication of that by looking at the original paint with in the compartment itself at those attachment areas.

Thanks.

Pluck

To the best of my knowledge there were no attachments for mats or carpets.

Look at section 11 of your restoration standards manual. Both carpets and mats had attachment points.

I stand corrected. Thanks.

Are you also saying there are no holes punched in the sheet metal for the front carpet/mat studs to be crimped into? Really?

The holes are there...Really!
