Re: pics good ole days some may be reposts Yep, we had kerosene lamps until 1951, not easy to do your homwork with those. We were amazed when we turned on the first 60 amp bulb. No wonder I have trouble driving in the dark. We had a dirt road in front of the house then they started oiling the road with a tar mix then spreading fine gravel to seal the tar so you could drive on it.
