50 Ford window adjust

I have a 50 Ford convert. Having a problem adjusting the door window. The back is lower than the front of the window. Have read the green book and have the body repair convertible booklet for put out by Ford. But can not seem to get the top of the window gap to the frame even.

Bill
Some of the old time upholstery shops could probably help you.

Can you show us a picture? How are the door and vent window lines? I saw one at Hershey one time and the alignment was so bad I could not even figure out where to begin. Long shot but could it be the wrong window?

As I recall from doing a few many years ago, correction was achieved by loosening the regulator mounting screws an rotating it.
In some cases the holes in the door were enlarged in the appropriate direction to allow for more rotation.

Bill the vent window frame has a slight adjustment at the bottom mount, if you move the bottom of the frame backward it should bring the back of the window up. That is if the convertable window is similar to a hard top.

When the window is in it's full up position (where the problem is) moving the bottom of the front track will only cause a pinch on the window when it's down. The angle that the window goes up and down is controlled by the regulator position.

My thought was if the vent window post gap was too wide at the bottom the angle of the glass would change, I had to adjust all four on my car when I replaced the glasses and channels, but I haven't worked on a convertible so the adjustment's could be different. This adjustment is done with the window down to prevent binding.

Convertible or non-convertible the regulator is supposed to keep the window going up and down parallel with the front and rear window tracks.
The other adjustments are to tighten up any gaps if necessary but not to guide the window when the regulator is out of adjustment.

Thanks everyone for their input. The gap between the vent window and and A pillow is uniform. I am going try in input some pictures.

Rotating the regulator would help to bring the door window in line with the quarter window but the gap between the glass and top frame sure looks like the frame needs some attention.

The frame is tight. No slop in it. There is no way to lower it. That I could read about it in the book.

Done some adjustment. Looks better but not correct.

Just from what I can see, if the front anchor points could be moved forward, then that should allow it to sit lower in the rear.

It is possible that the cowl is sagged a bit. I'm wondering if the attachment in the back can be moved. How is the other side? If it is ok, and ok is as good as these shoeboxes ever were, Try taking comparison measurement including the arc of the top rail.
