name to remember for your next wiring harness My usual source for “old Ford parts” was temporarily out of stock of the 1936 Ford main wiring harness. Searching this forum, and the Early Ford V8 Club site, a name that popped up a number of times as a reliable vendor of quality wiring products was Tyree Harris ([email protected]). I sent Tyree an email yesterday morning asking about product availability. A few hours later my cell phone was ringing and displaying a number very foreign to my area code. (I’m from Alberta, Canada). Much to my surprise it was Tyree telling me he that he’d read my email, determined he had stock and that the harness which I needed would be in the mail the very next morning. Bear in mind that he did not know me, we hadn’t discussed my ability to pay, or how I would pay, and so on. All he had was my name, address and phone number. I asked if he could take a Visa number over the phone. He said that isn’t he way he does business. All he asked is that I mail him a cheque for the product and postage (in U.S. funds) once the harness arrived. Wow! Now that’s great old-fashioned value! This is the kind of legendary customer service and amazing on-time supply performance that most big companies will never be able to achieve. Naturally, I highly recommend Tyree Harris when you need a wiring harness for your current/next project.

Re: name to remember for your next wiring harness Hi Everyone, Tyree Harris is also a strong supporter of the hobby by paying for adverts in V-8 Times, and contributing items to the V-8 Club and Early Ford V-8 Foundation events. I've got a $25 gift cert waiting to use that I got in Auburn at MotorFest 2015. I guess I should stop waiting and get a harness or two!

Bob Brown told me about Tyree. Is a member of the Geo Washington Chapter of the Model A club and has excellent service for us local folks. It did take ten days for one shipment to arrive, but that was due to USPS, not him. Most everything else has been a day or two |

Re: name to remember for your next wiring harness Mr. Harris supplied me with the wiring harnesses to install Ford accessory turn signals on my '48 Ford along with installation diagrams. Every thing worked out well. Great gentleman to do business with.

Re: name to remember for your next wiring harness Bauer Electronics, formerly located in New Ulm, Minnesota and now located in Bend, Oregon has been making top quality machine-wound wire looms for many makes and years of cars for a long, long time. Re: name to remember for your next wiring harness I used his harness for my'37 Ford and I remember getting an order before I sent payment. I asked him if he thought this may be a risky way to do business and he told me he was only stung once by a pretty good name in the V8 Club roster but wouldn't say who only that I wouldn't believe it.

Re: name to remember for your next wiring harness I met Tyree for the first time at the ENM flea market/swap meet in Charlotte/Concord last year. We sat and talked for quite some time. He had some nice looking wiring harnesses shown on his table, plus a lot of other car wiring items. He also had a nice '39 coupe there for sale. I tried to talk him into coming up to the Gettysburg ENM meet and setting up in the swap meet this past August, but could not convince him to do that, but then that's another whole story in itself.
Tyree is getting up in years, like so many of us in this hobby are, so if you are thinking about getting a new, well made, wiring harness for your old Ford, get in touch with Tyree Harris, and get your order in. |
