Need help with Generator rebuilding parts assembly order...

4 Attachment(s)
I purchased this generator with the intentions of rebuilding it and installing it in my '29 Town Sedan. I believe it is a B-10000, circa 1933, used by Ford to replace Model A generators in the later years. The rear end plate has ventilation holes. The front plate has been identified on the Ford Garage website http://www.fordgarage.com/pages/generatorchart.htm as 46-10139.
Here's my problem: The generator seems to have been previously disassembled, and I think it is missing some parts at the front drive end of the armature. I can't find an exact exploded view of this generator to tell me what parts are missing and the order in which they get installed. Can someone please post a diagram/photo that shows the parts required and the order of assembly? Thank you.

This is a picture of the 1929 generator layed out in an exploded view, and this will be a little different from your's. If I remember to look tomorrow, I'll see if I have enough parts to make an exploded view for one like you have, but I think you are missing the ring spacer. I can measure one tomorrow, so if you have a lathe it would be an easy part to make. It also looks like you are missing a disc plug for the rear bushing.

Your generator looks like it was made up from a lot of parts. The front plate is from a 1933-34 generator. (part number 46-10000) I mention this only because it might make it easier to find information.

Thanks gentlemen. Tom, the exploded view would be great. Send me the spacer dimensions and I will make one. I also see I am missing the left "C" clip.

Charlie, thanks for pointing out that the front plate is 1933-34. I thought the rear plate was as well? According to MACs the rear plate was applicable to many models from 1932-39. See the attached below:

I only have the front cover and a snap ring left, so I can't make an exploded view of that generator armature and bearing assembly.

I did measure the spacer ring, and it's 1.000" OD, .6675" ID, and .187" wide.

The "correct" rear plate for a '33-'34 has a chamfer. I wonder why they spent the money to make a chamfer (and maybe they dropped it later)?

I forgot to mention that you are also missing the small lock ring, the same as on the shaft. It's a soft steel ring, so it will be easy to make that also.
