Hi all,
started cleaning up a spare head to have it surfaced. While doing this I found the head has these numbers on it,
8-17-45 below that the letters AL.
Next it has A6050A
then Made in USA. Just wondering what all this means, maybe a replacement head made in 1943?

Yes, it is a standard replacement head built in 1945. I've had a couple over the years.

There also may be a diamond on the front under the water pump.

No diamond only a raised square with what looks like a half circle going into it and that's at the right rear of the head.
