28 Tudor body wood installation tutorial Hi Everyone! Can anyone point me toward an article for installing the body (not the top) wood on a '28 Tudor? Many thanks in advance for any help! Regards, Dave.

Re: 28 Tudor body wood installation tutorial I have never heard of one but I hope there is one out there and it can be placed here for future use.

Re: 28 Tudor body wood installation tutorial Thanks for your reply Mike! Yes, one along the lines of the one Les Andrews did in the "Model A Ford Mechanics Handbook Vol. 2" for the top wood installation would be good for those of us scratching our heads trying to figure out some of the steps for the body wood! Regards, Dave.

Re: 28 Tudor body wood installation tutorial The biggest problem in replacing the body wood in the car is that the wood was assembled first and then the sheet metal was put on. A lot of the old wood screws can only be had from between the sheet metal and the wood. Assembly would be a lot different then original.

Re: 28 Tudor body wood installation tutorial Thanks for your offer Mitch!
My main concerns are the removal of the existing tack strips above the side windows which seem to be practically encased in metal and are the replacement pillar pieces (two each in the B pillars and one on the rear side of the side windows) now only held in place by the nails? Also, the lower rear curved corner pieces that have the narrow strips protruding down from them, what is the attachment point for the lower end of these strips? And finally, if you have a pic of your rear window wood installation showing the fasteners, that would be awesome! Many thanks Mitch! htttp://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=192091 |
