35 steering column electrical

The electrical connection hub on the bottom of my 35 Ford pickup steering column is being replaced/repaired. Having trouble with attaching the wire bail that holds the two housing halves to the steering column. Can't seem to find any projections or "ears" for the bail loops to hook over. I have both a new after market bail and what I think is the original bail, neither of which work.

Can you tell from the picture if I'm missing something on the steering column for attachment points

Do these help any? These are 37 and later.

It is a very common swap to fit a 37-39 steering box to the 35. This may be what you have.

Mr. Seery and Terry. You just refreshed what memory I have left. The steering box is actually a 1937 model and ihe reason my 1935 bail doesn't fit. I'm pretty sure I can modify my bail now to work with the 37 box. Thanks for helping me out.

Janko, Here are a couple of pictures that should help comparing a 35/36 bail with a 37 bail. Your light switch housing will only work with these designs.

Hi Jake. I just went out in my shop to look, I have some shock links but there not like the ones need. I wish they were, you could have them. Is that you and Chris up on top of that pole on your Avatar. Walt

Walt, thanks for looking for the shock link. There's a salvage yard nearby that I think might have some. The picture is on Swan's Island last summer. Chris is on the pole, not me.
