Re: OT Please help identify this car

It is diffinately not a Dodge of any year. It is a very Rare 1930 Incumbent Constable, easily identified by the reverse threads on the right left rear axle housing.

I'm thinking Willys Knight due to the sharp edge on the hood.

The center bumper clamp has the name running up and to the right similar to Buick.

yea it has big ol headlights - dodges look too small. rear wheels are tucked way up under the fenders too.

Looks like a 1929 or 30 Oakland. to me.

Yeah, maybe a GM product. Try the aaca general discussion board, you will have the answer in 15 minutes.

My 2 cents are it is Buick judging from the disk wheels and the center bumper clamp that is a blue shield.

Re: OT Please help identify this car

Thanks everyone. REO looks the closest so far. Whippet might be another but I think a Whippet was a smaller car.

30 Whippet seems to be right

I think Dave is right. They both have the embossed divider in the center of the sun visor, and other features seem to match.

Re: OT Please help identify this car

I have owned a 1928 Reo Flying Cloud, and am somewhat familiar with the REOs before and after the 1928 Model year - and from that background I do not believe that the car pictured is a REO.

REO, by the way, stands for Ransom E. Olds, the same fellow who started with a 'Curved Dash' Oldsmobile in about 1903. You may remember the song, "In My Merry Oldsmobile" which was a smash hit in 1903-'04. Well, at least SOME of you remember when that song came out . . . . .

I can't remember my grandfather driving anything other than an Oldsmobile of some sort or another. Always remember him singing that song.

Looks a lot like a '30 Chevy with disc wheels. Not quite but really close. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a GM product. the little emblem on the bumper may give a better clue. the cowl lights are a bit different and there is no headlight stanchions on that car either.
