1941 Ford grill questions I have a 41 Ford Special Tudor sedan. The grills I pulled off of it were stamped steel not the cast like I have normally seen. I have been told the stamped steel grill was factory on the Specials. Can anyone verify if this is true? I have included pictures of one side grill and the center. You can see that it is stamped with the Ford logo. The center is still the factory chrome and the sides have been stripped and painted by me in the 90s. Thanks, Bob
The barn wouldn't allow uploads of these pics so here are the links to my photobucket.... http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...psvo5gr9vb.jpg http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...ps7naiqgup.jpg http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...pshvr84aso.jpg http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...pst3lbgmsp.jpg http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...pswkuyrvim.jpg |
Re: 1941 Ford grill questions I would assume (that word again) the Super Deluxe had the cast grills and the rest were stamped.

Re: 1941 Ford grill questions What it states in the V-8 Club's 1941 thru 1948 Book is as follows. "In the Super Deluxe line all three panels are rustless metal or chrome plated. In the Deluxe and Special model lines the fender grills are painted body color". So it looks like Stainless Steel or chrome for the Super Deluxe and stamped steel for the Deluxe or Specials.
