Motometer question

1 Attachment(s)
May sound a bit silly to ask, but none of my previous Model A's had a motometer on the radiator like this one does. I know how to open it up to refill the radiator, but I didn't want to force anything and I have not removed the unit completely to see inside the radiator for what I want to view there.

I don't want to pull the shell in order to determine if I have a 2 row or 3 row radiator and I didn't want to break anything in trying to remove the radiator cap to see inside.

Am I being just too cautious or how exactly does one remove the entire unit from the radiator for viewing? It is a stock, round motometer and not the quail. Not the best photo of it, but all I have at present.

Thanks for any info or tips.

Re: Motometer question

Flip the Motometer cap up and you will see the two Allen screws that hold the cap to the neck.
Most radiators have a baffle above the core so looking into the neck you will not see the tubes.

Thanks for the info. Is there any way then to tell if the radiator is a 2 row or 3 row without pulling the shell off?

Glad I didn't force things without asking, first.

Re: Motometer question

Just look through the fins and you can see if it's a 2 row or a 3 row.
